About NW Fitness Project
Seattle Personal Training
& Small Group Fitness Studio
NW Fitness Project isn't your average gym — it's a community of expert coaches, curious minds, and humans who care deeply about helping people get stronger, move better, and feel more like themselves.
Founded in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, we've built a reputation for delivering exceptional personal training and small group strength classes with heart, science, and a sense of humor. Our Fremont community has been doing this since 2017. West Seattle is coming this summer.
Our mission? To help people create Fitness Built to Last — in their bodies, their communities, and their lives. This is about putting in the work in gym in order to play outside and enjoy your life to the absolute fullest.
Our Services Include:
Personal Training (1-on-1 sessions) + Partner Training (2-on-1 sessions)
Small Group Training (10 max Fremont/8 max West Seattle)

Why Choose NW Fitness Project: What Makes Us Different
Expert Trainers, Human Approach: Every trainer is handpicked for their depth of knowledge, commitment to continuing education, and ability to deliver empathetic, individualized training. We're serious about quality, not ourselves.
Person Over Program: We adapt training to fit you — not the other way around. Unlike impersonal big-box gyms, we offer personalized assessments to match you with the trainer that suits your goals, schedule, and personality.
Long-Term Relationships: We prioritize sustainable fitness relationships, not short-term fixes. This is more than training—it's a relationship built on trust and empowerment.
Proven Results: We believe fitness should feel challenging, empowering, and yes — fun. Our approach combines heart, science, and a sense of humor.
We're dedicated fitness scientists crafting empathetic, personalized training built to last. Whether through one-on-one personal training or our signature small group classes, we create fitness experiences that adapt to your life, your goals, and your unique journey.
Our expert team—both Core Trainers and Independent Specialists—shares a commitment to sustainable, science-based training that meets you exactly where you are. We don't just give you workouts; we teach you to understand your body, build lasting strength, and become your own strongest advocate.
Who We Serve: Seattle's Fitness-Forward Community
We're for the curious, the committed, and the ready-to-grow. Our Seattle community includes:
Professionals looking for sustainable fitness that fits their demanding schedules
Athletes (of all levels) who want to train smarter, not just harder
People returning to fitness after injury, life changes, or long breaks
Anyone who's tired of fitness feeling like punishment and ready for it to feel like empowerment
There’s no prerequisite to training with us—you just need to be ready to show up authentically and put in the work. We'll meet you where you are and take you further than you ever thought possible.
Where to Find Us
Our flagship studio space is located at 3601 Greenwood Avenue North on the main strip in Fremont- just blocks away from Google, Tableau, PCC, and our favorite neighborhood coffee shop, flower shop, bike repair, and more.
This summer, we're bringing the same approach to
West Seattle. Our second location opens Summer 2026 on California Ave SW at Morgan Junction.
We commit to meeting you where you are, supporting your journey with expertise and empathy, and teaching you the tools to succeed long after you leave our doors. Your growth is our shared success.
Why We Exist: Our Mission
Because fitness shouldn't be another thing that feels hard about your life. We believe movement has the power to transform not just bodies, but confidence, communities, and how people show up in the world.
In an industry obsessed with quick fixes and perfect bodies, we're here to prove that Fitness Built to Last isn't just possible—it's sustainable, empowering, and sometimes even genuinely enjoyable.
We exist to create the fitness experience we wish we'd had: expert guidance without the ego, challenging workouts without the judgment, and a community that cheers for your wins while supporting you through the tough days.
Our Story
We knew there had to be a better way. In 2017, after eight years of working together—first as colleagues, then as independent trainers sharing the same space—Kyle Davis and Matt Holland merged their businesses to create NW Fitness Project. Their dream was simple: build a facility that could be home to the fitness community they'd cultivated and a welcoming space for sustainable, effective training. Eight years later, we've grown from two founders to five owners, promoting from within to create meaningful career paths while staying true to our core values. What started as a desire to do things differently has become a proven model for how fitness businesses can grow sustainably while prioritizing both client relationships and trainer careers.
After expanding our ownership team in 2025, this summer, we’re expanding our footprint to a second location in West Seattle.
